RESOLUTION 11833
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
ACCEPTING IMPROVEMENTS FOR THE WEST CAMPBELL AVENUE WELL PUMP
STATIONS A, B & C, AND SAN TOMAS EXPRESSWAY/CAMPBELL AVENUE
WELL PUMP STATIONS UTILITIES PROJECT 04-09 AND DIRECTING
THE FILING OF THE NOTICES OF COMPLETION
WHEREAS, in 2005, the Campbell Redevelopment Agency (RDA) authorized execution
of a Project Management Agreemeht between the Agency and the Santa Clara Valley
Water District (SCVWD) to manage the design and construction of three water supply
wells and pump stations on a five acre parcel at 555 West Campbell Avenue; and
WHEREAS, the consulting firm of Luhdorff and Scalmanini Consulting Engineers was
retained for all engineering design for the well pump stations and utilities, including
initial feasibility studies, design consultation with SCVWD staff, and preparation of
plans, specifications and estimates; and
WHEREAS, all costs for design and construction of the wells and infrastructure were
funded by SCVWD, the owner and operator of the facilities; and
WHEREAS, in December 2005, a contract was awarded for the demolition of existing
improvements and clearing of the SCVWD site at 555 West Campbell Avenue to allow
for the construction of the three water supply well; and
WHEREAS, in December 2006, the West Campbell Avenue Water Supply Wells
contract was awarded to Humboldt Drilling for drilling and construction of the three
extraction wells and the improvements were accepted in February, 2008 at a total cost
of $1,011,091; and
WHEREAS, in July 2009, the Well Pump Stations A, B & C contract was awarded to
Conco West for the construction of the three pump stations housing and associated
equipment; and
WHEREAS, in November 2010 an additional contract was awarded to Stoloski &
Gonzalez to construct utilities necessary to serve the new wells; and
WHEREAS, all work on the Wells Project has now been completed.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell
hereby accepts the improvements for the West Campbell Avenue Well Pump Stations
A, B & C, and San Tomas Expressway/Campbell Avenue Well Pump Stations Utilities
Project 04-09 and directs the filing of.the Notices of Completion.
