A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO APPLY FOR AN ENERGY EFFICIENCY LOAN
FROM THE CALIFORNIA ENERGY COMMISSION
WHEREAS, the California Energy Commission provides .loans to schools, hospitals, local
governments, special districts, and public care institutions to finance energy efficiency
improvements; and
WHEREAS, the City is eligible to apply for a fixed 1% loan from the California Energy
Commission, with a repayment schedule based on actual energy savings from the project,.with
no additional costs to the City; and
WHEREAS, the City of Campbell has demonstrated its commitment to reducing greenhouse
gas emissions and long-term energy costs by installing Electric Vehicle Charging Stations,
implementing various energy efficiency measures in City buildings and converting over 200
streetlights to LED fixtures.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell
a. Authorizes the City Manager to apply for a loan from the California Energy Commission
on the City's behalf for energy efficiency measures.
b. Finds the LED streetlight conversion project is categorically exempt from environmental
review under the California Environmental Quality Act pursuant to California Code of
Regulations, Section 15301 (c) (repairs and minor alterations to existing facilitates).
c. Authorizes the City Manager to accept a loan on the City's behalf not to exceed
$700,000 if recommended for funding by the California Energy Commission
d. Agrees that the amount of the loan will be paid in full, plus interest, under the terms and
conditions of the Loan Agreement, Promissory Note and Tax Certificate of the California
Energy Commission. ,
