PC Res 2886Resolution No. 2886 BEING A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL RECOMMENDING THE DESIGNATION AS AN HISTORIC LANDMARK, THE RESIDENCE LOCATED AT 81 N. FIRST STREET IN A PD-H (PLANNED DEVELOPMENT/HISTORIC OVERLAY) ZONING DISTRICT. FILE NO. HPB 93-01. After notification and public hearing as specified by law on the application filed by Todd and Tanya Lonac to designate the residence at 81 N. First Street as a Historic Landmark and after testimony by proponents and opponents, the hearing was closed. After due consideration of all evidence presented, the Planning Commission did find as follows: The house is reflective of the housing style for Campbell during the early 1900s. o The home retains unique architectural features such as original windows and hardware which enhance the value of the home from an aesthetic and historical standpoint. The architectural style is a good example of a turn-of-the-century colonial cottage architecture. Based upon the foregoing findings of fact, the Planning Commission further finds and concludes that the proposed Historic Landmark Designation for the residence and property located at 81 N. First Street would: 1. Be consistent with the General Plan; Safeguard the heritage of the City by providing for the protection of landmarks representing significant elements of its history; ge Enhance the visual character of the City by encouraging and regulating the compatibility of architectural styles within landmark districts reflecting unique and established architectural traditions; o Foster public appreciation of a civic pride in the beauty of the City and the accomplishments of its past; Strengthen the economy of the City by protecting and enhancing the City's attractions to residents, tourists and visitors; Resolution No. 2886 HPB 93-01 -- 81 N.
