A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF RECREATION AND COMMUNITY SERVICES
TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR PURCHASE OF CUSTOM SHELVING FOR THE
CAMPBELL HISTORICAL MUSEUM COLLECTIONS AREA
WHEREAS, the City of Campbell Recreation and Community Services Department
operates the Campbell Historical Museum and Ainsley House; and
WHEREAS, the City Council approved and allocated funds for Capital Improvement
Project #15-JJ for the improvement of the Ainsley House Basement; and
WHEREAS, the goal of the project is to improve conservation conditions and to make
accessing Museum Collections records and materials easier; and
WHEREAS, staff obtained three informal quotes from vendors pursuant to City of
Campbell's Municipal Code 3.20.030; and
WHEREAS, the proposal from Space Solutions best met the specifications required by
the Museum and was the lowest cost for manufacturing and installing the custom
shelving; and
WHEREAS, the lowest estimate is $3,000 over the $25,000 threshold for formal bids
and the City of Campbell's Municipal Code 3.20.030(8) allows the City Council to
dispense with the formal bid process in certain circumstances;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Director of Recreation and Community
Services is hereby authorized to execute a contract for purchase of custom shelving for
the Campbell Historical Museum Collections Area.
