CC Resolution 11925RESOLUTION NO. 11925
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
APPROVING A BUDGET ADJUSTMENT NOT TO EXCEED $40,000 FROM THE
CITY OF CAMPBELL HOUSING ASSISTANCE FUND TO THE SILICON VALLEY
COMMUNITY FOUNDATION FOR THE PREPARATION OF A NEXUS STUDY AND
FEASIBILITY STUDY.
WHEREAS, housing affordability is a major issue in the Bay Area, with a shortage of
affordable housing for lower-income renters, impacting the City's ability to maintain civic
workforce occupations such as public safety workers and teachers; and
WHEREAS, the City desires that a study be prepared that analyzes whether there is a
reasonable relationship between the development of new market rate residential rental
units and the need to increase the supply of new affordable housing; and
WHEREAS, the shared cost of a multi-city nexus study would be less than the cost if
the City of Campbell performed the study on its own; and
WHEREAS, the information provided by the study could help inform the Council's
decision on whether to implement fees in the future, but does not obligate the City of
Campbell to implement any fees.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell
herby authorizes the City Manager to execute a consultant contract, not to exceed
$40,000, with the Silicon, and approves the attached budget adjustment.
