A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
COMMENDING SHERRIE DOHERTY FOR 28 YEARS OF SERVICE
WHEREAS, Sherrie Doherty began work on April 25, 1988, as a Principal Clerk in the City of
Campbell Finance Department; and
WHEREAS, in her 20 year tenure in the Finance Department, Sherrie Doherty was
promoted from Principal Clerk, to Secretary, to Executive Assistant. In these roles," she
assisted in the physical preparation of the City's budget document, offering her eye for detail
and creativity in making the final document look great and function well; and
WHEREAS, in December of 2007, Sherrie Doherty was promoted to her current position as
the Executive Assistant to the City Manager, where she has served for the last eight years,
during which time she supported four City Managers and an Interim City Manager; and
WHEREAS, Sherrie Doherty served the Campbell Municipal Employees Association (CMEA) in
officer positions for 20 years including as its Treasurer, Secretary, Vice President and for eight
years (4 terms) as its President; and
WHEREAS, Sherrie Doherty volunteered for City event planning committees, such as the
Annual Picnic, Halloween and Holiday parties, and on committees which made equipment
selection decisions for our copiers, phone and voicemail systems; and
WHEREAS, Sherrie Doherty always gave her time, talent and shared her institutional
knowledge to assist her colleagues and provided excellent customer service to the public,
always representing the City with the utmost kindness and professionalism; and
WHEREAS, effective on December 30, 2015, Sherrie Doherty will serve her last day as a
Campbell employee, after a distinguished 28 year tenure at City Hall.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell
does hereby express its appreciation to Sherrie Doherty for her valuable service and many
contributions to the City of Campbell, and wish her all the best in all future endeavors. Her
service is appreciated and her accomplishments countless.
PASSED AND ADOPTED, this 1st day of December, 2015 by the City Council of the City
of Campbell, California, as follows:
