RESOLUTION AMENDING THE CLASSIFICATION AND SALARY
. PLAN
WHEREAS, The City Manager is required by Section 2.12.030 of the Campbell
Municipal Code to prepare and submit to the City Council recommendations for
the reorganization of offices, departments, and positions which are considered to
be in the best interest of efficient,- effective and economical conduct of the
municipal services provided by the City; and
WHEREAS, Title 2, Section 2.16.020 of the Campbell Municipal Code provides
that the City Council may, from time to time, by resolution, change the
compensation of employees of said City, and may, by resolution, adopt salary and
wage scales; and
WHEREAS, a review.has been conducted; and
WHEREAS, an amendment to the current Classification and Salary Plan is
needed to meet the requirements of Municipal Code Section 2.12.030.
. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Campbell does hereby approve the revised class specification of .Recreation
_Supervisor (Attachment B) as outlined inthe Council Report.

RECREATION SUPERVISOR
DEFINITION
Under direction, to plan, organize, and supervise the recreation component of
the Community Services Program; and to do related work as required.
TYPICAL DUTIES
Organizes, develops, supervises, and coordinates recreation program activities;
recruits, trains, and supervises full time, part-time and contract employees;
coordinates the use of
facilities for recreation activities ,
develops and prepares reports as required; organizes

#~eliday-sarnp<s; prepares and controls equipment inventory; coordinates public
information concerning recreation programs; prepares and monitors program
budget; interfaces with non-profits and outside user groups; inslading--news

recreational planning organizations/committees and advisory groups; organizes
City-wide special events; and performs other related duties as required.
EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS
Education and Experience:Graduation from an accredited college or university
with major ,work in recreation/leisure services or
closely related field, and equivalent of.one year of
full-time related experience in recreation/leisure
services.
Knowledge of: Principles and practices of recreation/leisure services
and public relations.
Ability to: Work independently; speak--and •••~'° °~'°^'~••°'••~
establish and maintain effective working relations with
other employees, municipal officials, school district
personnel, and the public;
pregrarns; gain the cooperation of other agencies and
groups; perform basic computer tasks; effectively and
efficiently plan, organize and supervise employees
and volunteers; direct the activities of recreation
workers and related personnel; organize and direct
activities, programs and special events work in a
team-based environment and achieve common goals:
walk or stand for extended periods of time. bend
stoop, reach, carry, crawl, climb run and lift as
necessary to pertorm assigned duties: effectively
handle multiple priorities, organize workload and
meet strict deadlines.
Possession of: Valid California Driver's License.
