A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAItiiPBELL
AUTHORIZING AWARD OF EQUIPMENT CONTRACT FOR TRAFFIC SIGNAL
CONTROLLER CABINET REPLACEMENT PROJECT 14-FF
WHEREAS, the Traffic Signal Controller Cabinet Replacement Project 14-FF (Project)
is included in the City's Capital Improvement Plan; and
WHEREAS, the Project would purchase and install new Type P controller cabinets at
six signalized intersections in Campbell; and
WHEREAS, the preliminary engineer's estimate for purchasing six controller cabinets is
$73,000; and
WHEREAS, the apparent low bid was from Western Pacific Signal for $86,328.00 which
is 18.3% higher than the engineer's estimate; and
WHEREAS, encumbering $94,960.80 would leave $94,260.10 remaining for
construction of Project 14-FF; and
WHEREAS, staff recommends authorizing the Public Works Director to award the
equipment contract to Western Pacific Signal in the amount not to exceed $86,328.00
and encumber a 10% contingency in an amount not to exceed $8,632.80 for a total
encumbrance not to exceed $94,960.80.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council authorizes the Public
Works Director to award the equipment contract for controller cabinets to Western
Pacific Signal in an amount not to exceed $86,328.00 and to encumber a 10%
contingency not to exceed $8,632.80 for a total encumbrance of $94,960.80 for the
Traffic Signal Controller Cabinet Replacement Project 14-FF.
