A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
AUTHORIZING THE PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR TO ISSUE A REQUEST FOR
PROPOSALS FOR CITYWIDE TREE SERVICES AND ENTER INTO
A ONE YEAR SERVICE AGREEMENT WITH AN OPTION TO
RENEW FOR UP TO FOUR YEARS
WHEREAS, the City can maximize its efficiency and resources by allowing City crews
to focus on citizen service requests and pertorming scheduled block pruning and
contracting out tree services that focus on large tree care, trees near high voltage lines
and trees on major roadways; and
WHEREAS, the current Fiscal Year 2016/2017 Park Maintenance Services Operating
Budget has appropriated funds for the care and maintenance of trees; and
WHERERAS, Campbell Municipal Code 3.20.050, has provisions which allow for the
securing of services through Requests for Proposals; and
WHEREAS, staff has prepared a Request for Proposals (RFP) for Citywide tree care
services that will allow staff to review proposals and evaluate them based on the cost
for services, as well as past experience and performance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell
authorizes the issuance of a Request for Proposals for Citywide Tree Services and
authorizes the Public Works Director to enter into a one year service agreement in an
amount not to exceed $100,000, with the option to renew up to four (4) one-year
contracts, in an amount not to exceed the City Council approved Operating Budgets for
each Fiscal Year.
