A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL SUPPORTING
SANTA CLARA COUNTY'S MEASURE A ON THE PRESIDENTIAL GENERAL
ELECTION BALLOT
WHEREAS, the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors created the Housing Task Force for
the purpose of identifying solutions to the immediate housing needs of homeless families and
individuals across Santa Clara County; and
WHEREAS, Destination: Home's Community Plan to End Homelessness in Santa Clara
County relies upon the "Housing First" model, which "centers on providing people experiencing
homelessness with housing as quickly as possible;" and
WHEREAS, in July 2015, the City Council adopted a resolution supporting the Destination:
Home Community Plan to End Homelessness 2015-2020; and
WHEREAS, in January 2016, the City Council adopted the attached resolution finding that the
problem of homelessness in Santa Clara County constitutes a crisis; and
WHEREAS, in June 2016, the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to
place a $950 million Bond Measure on the Presidential General Election ballot to generate
funds to build housing for homeless, low- and moderate-income residents and first time-
homebuyers; and
WHEREAS, in August 2016, the Santa Clara County Cities Association Board of Directors
unanimously endorsed Santa Clara County's Measure A.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL:
The City of Campbell hereby supports Measure A on the 2016 Presidential General Election
Ballot to generate funds for affordable housing projects.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 20~h day of September, 2016 by the City Council of the City of
Campbell, California, by the following roll call vote:
