CC Resolution 12050RESOLUTION N0.12050 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH TRITECH SOFTWARE SYSTEMS TO PROVIDE A SHARED COMPUTER-AIDED DISPATCH AND MOBILE DATA COMPUTER SOLUTIONS HOSTED BY THE MILPITAS POLICE DEPARTMENT AND TO MAKE NECESSARY FY17 BUDGET ADJUSTMENTS FOR THE PROJECT WHEREAS, replacement of the City's Computer-Aided Dispatch /Records Management. system are funded in the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) at $900,000; and WHEREAS, the revised System Purchase Agreement price of $418,110.74 from Tritech Software Systems for Computer-Aided Dispatch and Mobile Data Computer solutions is less that fifty percent of the amount allocated in the CIP; and WHEREAS, the existing Police Patrol Vehicle MDCs have reached the end of their useful life and replacementfunds_are available in the Information Technology Pool Fund; and WHEREAS, new Computer Aided Dispatch workstations of the same make and model currently used in Milpitas will ensure compatibility and functionality; and WHEREAS, changes to the wiring in the City's 911 center will be necessary; and WHEREAS, the fiber optic link and cellular network charges are necessary for the shared Computer-Aided Dispatch and Mobile Data Computer solutions to function; and WHEREAS, staff has determined that amulti-jurisdictional shared Computer-Aided Dispatch and Mobile Data Computer solution from TriTech Software Systems hosted by the City of Milpitas will provide exceptional technical features, functionality, ease of use and provide a platform for future expansion with other agencies in the County. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell determines it is in the best interest of the public to dispense with the formal bidding process and hereby authorizes the City Manager to enter into an agreement with TriTech Software Solutions for a shared CAD/MDC solution, hosted by the City of Milpitas. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager to make budget adjustments to the Information Technology Division's budget to accommodate the purchase of new MDCs ($127,500), CAD workstations ($24,000), a Test Environment ($6,000) and wiring ($2,500) as well as to the Police Department's budget to accommodate the cost of the fiber optic link to Milpitas ($10,000) and the cellular data charges ($7,500).
