A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SIGN A MEMORANDUM OF
UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE CITY OF MILPITAS AND CITY OF CAMPBELL
FOR SHARED USE OF PUBLIC SAFETY COMPUTER AIDED DISPATCH SYSTEM
AND TO MAKE FY17 BUDGET ADJUSTMENTS NECESSARY FOR THE PROJECT.
WHEREAS, replacement of the City's Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) /Mobile Data
Computers (MDC) is a priority for the Police Department; and
WHEREAS, implementing a shared TriTech CAD/MDC solution with the City of
Milpitas has been authorized by Council on the basis that this configuration will.
provide exceptional technical features, functionality, ease of use and provide a
platform for future expansion with other agencies in the County; and
WHEREAS, the Milpitas Information Technology Department and the Campbell
Information Technology Division have reviewed the work necessary to implement the
TriTech CAD/MDC system for Campbell and provide on-going support; and
WHEREAS, on the basis of that review, the Campbell Police Department &
Information Technology Division have negotiated a Memorandum of Understanding
with City of Milpitas formalizing the services necessary to implement/support the
multijurisdictional CAD/MDC environment and cost for those services.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell
hereby authorizes the City Manager to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding
with the City of Milpitas for services necessary to implement/support the
multijurisdictional CAD/MDC environment.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council hereby authorizes the City
Manager to make a budget adjustment to the Police Department's FY17 budget in the
amount of $27,431 to reimburse the City of Milpitas for services related to
implementation and on-going support for the shared CAD/MDC system.
