BEING A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
AUTHORIZING THE CIVIC IMPROVEMENT COMMISSION (CIC) TO PROCEED WITH A
PILOT BEAUTIFICATION GRANT PROGRAM
WHEREAS, as part of its Major Workplans for FY 2017, the CIC has been working on
developing a new pilot community beautification program; and
WHEREAS, as authorized in the Campbell Municipal Code, beautification is one of the
areas of responsibility for the Civic Improvement Commission; and
WHEREAS, the principle goal of the beautification program is to encourage and
incentivize beautification efforts in the community -both in the neighborhoods and
surrounding businesses; and
WHEREAS, as currently drafted, the proposed beautification program will provide grant
incentives in two tiers for neighborhoods and small businesses/organizations; and
WHEREAS, at least one funding tier would require a matching grant component; and
WHEREAS, as proposed, Level 1 grant funds are valued between $500 and $1,500 and
do not require a matching amount while Level 2 grant funds are valued between $1,501
and $5,000 and would require aone-to-one match; and
WHEREAS, under the pilot program, grants are awarded as a reimbursement for
completed work; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has approved $25,000 from the City Council Reserve in the
adopted FY 2017 budget to support the Pilot Beautification Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED; that the City Council of the City of Campbell
hereby authorizes the Civic Improvement Commission to proceed with a Pilot
Beautification Grant Program.
