CC Resolution 12157RESOLUTION NO. 12157 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL ACCEPTING IMPROVEMENTS FOR VIRGINIA AVENUE SIDEWALK IMPROVEMENT PROJECT, FILE THE NOTICE OF COMPLETION, AND AUTHORIZE A BUDGET ADJUSTMENT WHEREAS, on June 30, 2016, the Director of Public Works awarded a construction contract to JJR Construction, Inc. for the construction of the Virginia Avenue Sidewalk Improvement Project 14-HH; and WHEREAS, JJR Construction, Inc. completed installation of various improvements in accordance with the project plans and specifications for the Virginia Avenue Sidewalk Improvement Project 14-HH; and WHEREAS, $12,330 in CIPR Funds has been identified to offset project expenditures; and WHEREAS, a budget adjustment has been prepared for transferring $12,330 from the CIPR fund into the Virginia Avenue Sidewalk Improvement Project 14-HH. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell hereby accepts the improvements constructed by JJR Construction, Inc. for the Virginia Avenue Sidewalk Improvement Project 14-HH, directs the City Engineer to file the Notice of Completion, and authorizes the Finance Director to execute a budget adjustment in the amount of $12,330. Contract Date: 7/25/2016 Surety: Great American Insurance Company Final Contract Amount: $992,664.00 Job Title: Project 14-HH: Virginia Avenue Sidewalk Improvement Project Location: Virginia Avenue between Budd Avenue and Hacienda Avenue in Campbell, CA Scope of Work: The project includes the installation of sidewalk, accessibility ramps, street trees, signing and striping, curb and gutter, accessible driveways, and storm drain, and utility relocation. Sharrows and other signage and pavement markings were added to encourage bicycle usage within the project limits. New storm drain inlets were installed to address drainage conditions created by the installation of the proposed improvements. In order to install these inlets new storm drain lines and manholes were installed to connect these new inlets to the existing storm drain system. Additionally, existing roadway grades were adjusted to provide proper conforms to the pedestrian improvements. The existing curb ramps and some of the existing sidewalk and driveways that did not meet ADA requirements were removed and replaced with ADA compliant improvements. Both underground and overhead utilities were relocated to accommodate the new storm drain and sidewalk improvements.
