APPROVAL OF WATER TOWER "PURPLE" THEMED LIGHTING
REQUEST FROM THE SILICON VALLEY WALK TO END ALZHEIMERS
WHEREAS, in June 2016, the City Council adopted the Campbell Water Tower Policy to
establish protocols for themed lighting of the Campbell Water Tower, including third party
requests; and
WHEREAS, the City Council may consider special lighting requests by third parties on a
case-by-case basis subject to a majority vote; and
WHEREAS, on May 12, 2017, the City received a request from the Silicon Valley Walk to
End Alzheimer's to light the Water Tower purple; and
WHEREAS, June is recognized as "Alzheimer's and Brain Awareness" month to support
the people living with Alzheimer's and their caregivers; and
WHEREAS, the Silicon Valley Walk to End Alzheimer's organization has requested to
illuminate the Campbell Water Tower purple on June 30, 2017;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell
hereby approves the Water Tower themed lighting request from the Silicon Valley Walk to
End Alzheimer's to illuminate the Water Tower purple in support of Alzheimer's and Brain
Awareness Month.
