A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
APPROVING A REVISION TO THE DOWNTOWN SPECIAL EVENTS POLICY,
MUSEUM POLICY ON RENTAL OF THE AINSLEY HOUSE GARDEN, THEATRE
USE POLICY, PICNIC POLICY, BUILDING USE POLICY, AND THE PARK AND
FIELD ATHLETIC FACILITY USE POLICY
WHEREAS, the Recreation and Community Services Department administers the use
of public facilities such as the Community Center, parks, athletic fields, downtown
streets, Museum. and Ainsley Garden and Heritage Theatre; and
WHEREAS, the uses of these facilities for private rentals and special events are
governed by the following policies: Downtown Special Event Policy, Museum Policy on
Rental of the Ainsley House Garden, Theatre Use Policy, Picnic Reservation -Policy,
Building Use Policy, and the Park, Field & Athletic Facility Use Policy; and
WHEREAS, with the exception of the Theatre Use Policy, the other policies do not
specifically ban firearms, weapons and open flames from the City premises; and
WHEREAS, the Downtown Special Event Policy, Museum Policy on Rental of the
Ainsley House Garden, Picnic Reservation Policy, Building Use Policy, and the Park,
Field & Athletic Facility Use Policy; will be updated to include the following language:
"Firearms, weapons and open flames are prohibited pursuant to Municipal Code
Chapter 13.04."
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council authorizes the
Recreation and Community Services Director to update the above mentioned policies
to prohibit firearms, weapons and open flames.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of
Campbell this 20th day of February, 2018, by the following roll call vote:
