BEING A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
COMMENDING VY "DENNIS" NGUYEN ON HIS 17 YEARS OF SERVICE TO THE
CITY OF CAMPBELL UPON HIS RETIREMENT
WHEREAS, Vy "Dennis" Nguyen was hired by the City of Campbell on August 21,
2000, as an Accounting Technician and, for the past 17 years, he was responsible for
the accurate and timely processing of the City's bi-weekly payroll including the proper
withholding and remittance of federal and state payroll taxes; and
WHEREAS, Dennis processed over 450 regular payrolls and 78 special payrolls for the
City of Campbell while employed; and, during this time, Dennis assisted numerous
employees by answering their confidential payroll questions and did so in trust and
confidence to the employees he served while demonstrating an outstanding
commitment to excellent customer service in the way he went about his job; and
WHEREAS, Dennis had to implement many provisions of MOUs, new benefit programs
offered by the City and helped automate the open enrollment process through his
knowledge of technology and creation of a spreadsheet based form making it easier for
employees to complete the annual process; and
WHEREAS, Dennis was a valued and integral member of the Finance Department and
the City of Campbell who faithfully discharged his duties to the best of his ability each
day he was at work and always with a positive attitude.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell
recognizes and commends Dennis Nguyen on his retirement from the City of Campbell
after 17 years of service and expresses its appreciation and gratitude for his many
contributions to the City.
PASSED AND ADOPTED, this 20t" day of March, 2018, by the City Council of the City
of Campbell, California, as follows:
