A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
AUTHORIZING THE PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR TO SUBMIT AN ALL-INCLUSIVE
PLAYGROUND GRANT PROGRAM APPLICATION TO THE COUNTY OF SANTA
CLARA FOR THE JOHN D. MORGAN PARK IMPROVEMENT - BUDD
AVENUE SIDE PROJECT 18-PP
WHEREAS, the All-Inclusive Playground Grant Program (AIPG) is a County of Santa Clara
funded program to encourage construction of playground improvements addressing the
needs of all users regardless of disability; and
WHEREAS, $1 M in AIPG funds is available for County Supervisorial District 4; and
WHEREAS, Campbell is eligible for the AIPG; and
WHEREAS, John D. Morgan Park -Budd Avenue Side was identified in the Site Suitability
Assessment Report as a potential location for an All-Inclusive Playground in Campbell; and
WHEREAS, the AIPG program requires a minimum one-to-one local match for the City of
Campbell; and
WHEREAS, a total of $1 M would be required 'in Campbell local match funds to maximize
the AIPG potential; and
WHEREAS, Parkland Dedication Funds are available to satisfy the one-to-one matching
funds obligation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Campbell
hereby authorizes the Public Works Director to submit an All-Inclusive Playground Grant
Program application to the County of Santa Clara for the John D. Morgan Park
Improvement -Budd Avenue Side Project 18-PP.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Campbell will provide up to $1 M in local
match funds should an All-Inclusive Playground Grant be awarded to the City of Campbell.
