CC Resolution 12307RESOLUTION NO. 12307 BEING A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL AUTHORIZING SUBMITTAL OF APPLICATION FOR FUNDS PURSUANT TO THE PRIORITY B7 SUPPORT VOLUNTEER CLEANUP EFFORTS AND EDUCATION GRANT PROGRAM AND RELATED AUTHORIZATIONS WHEREAS, the Santa Clara Valley Water District (Water District) manages an integrated water resources system that includes the supply of clean safe water, flood protection and stewardship of streams on behalf of Santa Clara County's residents. The Water District's mission is to provide Silicon Valley safe clean water for a healthy life, environment, and economy; and WHEREAS, the Water District's Safe Clean Water and Natural Flood Protection Program (Safe Clean Water Program) is a 15-year strategy approved in 2012 to ensure uninterrupted water resource services in Santa Clara County. A grants program is being implemented to address key performance indicators associated with priorities identified in the Safe Clean Water Program; and WHEREAS, the Water District announced funding decisions for the B7 Support Volunteer Cleanup Efforts and Education Grant Program in March 2018, with the Water District's Board subsequently awarding the City of Campbell, in collaboration with the Town of Los Gatos, $33,731 to support the installation of environmental outreach and recycling stations along Los Gatos Creek. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Campbell is authorized to submit an application to the District for any and all grant programs offered; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager, or his designee, is hereby authorized as Signature Authority to execute all documents necessary to implement and secure payment; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this authorization is effective until rescinded by the Signature Authority or this governing body.
