A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
AUTHORIZING THE USE OF ROAD MAINTENANCE AND REHABILITATION ACCOUNT
(RMRA) FUNDS FOR RESURFACING WINCHESTER BOULEVARD
WHEREAS, on April 28, 2017 the Secretary of State filed Senate Bill 1 (SB1) also known
as the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017; and
WHEREAS, cities and counties receiving RMRA funds must comply with all relevant
federal and state laws, regulations, policies, and procedures; and
WHEREAS, staff recommends applying FY2018/19 RMRA funds towards the pavement
resurfacing of Winchester Boulevard from the northern city limits near Rosemary Lane to
the southern city limits near Knowles Drive, and a portion of Campbell Avenue from
Winchester Boulevard to Jeffers Way; and
WHEREAS, the project will resurface Winchester Boulevard within the project limits; and
WHEREAS, the Annual Street Maintenance -Winchester Boulevard project is budgeted at
$7.2 million; and
WHEREAS, the preliminary engineering has begun and construction is anticipated to begin
in the summer of 2019; and
WHEREAS, the project goal is to extend the useful life of the pavement within the project
area for at least another ten years;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell
hereby authorizes the use of Road Maintenance and Rehabilitation Account (RMRA) funds
for resurfacing Winchester Boulevard.
