A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS TO INITIAIATE A
REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS FOR JANITORIAL SERVICES FOR THE
CAMPBELL COMMUNITY CENTER AND HERITAGE THEATRE
WHEREAS, the existing contract for janitorial services located at the Campbell
Community Center & Heritage Theatre will expire on June 30, 2018; and
WHEREAS, both the City and the City's current contractor, Universal Building Services,
mutually agree it is not in the best interest of either party to renew their agreement for
janitorial services; and
WHEREAS, janitorial services for all city facilities are provided by outside contractors;
and
WHEREAS, awarding the janitorial service contract to the lowest ~ bidder has not
produced a service provider that can meet the service needs of the Community Center;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Campbell does hereby authorize the Director of Public Works to initiate a Request for
Proposals for janitorial services at the Campbell Community Center and Heritage
Theatre; and authorize the Public Works Director to execute a contract to the most
responsive bidder(s) for a period of two years plus options to renew up to five additional
one year contracts for a total of seven years.
