A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
COMMENDING FIRE CHIEF KENNETH KEHMNA ON HIS NEARLY 31 YEARS OF SERVICE
TO THE SANTA CLARA COUNTY FIRE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, Chief Kenneth Kehmna began his fire service career in November 1987, and
was promoted to Fire Captain in February 2000, to Battalion Chief in May 2005, to Deputy
Chief in June 2007, and to Fire Chief in May 2011; and
WHEREAS, Chief Kehmna worked a variety of assignments and served as a Firefighter-
Engineer, Captain, and Deputy Chief of the Operations Division, Fire Captain and Deputy
Chief of the Training Division; and
WHEREAS, Chief Kehmna is the co-author of the California Incident Command
Certification (CICCS) System Qualifications Guide, has served as a Peer Review Member
for CICCS, and is the County Fire Chiefs' Association Liaison for the CICCS Review
Committee, and a FIRESCOPE CICCS Task Force member; and
WHEREAS, Chief Kehmna has participated in and led large-scale operations, incident
management, and mutual aid including the Tubbs Fire, Loma Fire, Summit Fire, and
Super Bowl 50; and
WHEREAS, Chief Kehmna has demonstrated his dedication to public service by serving
with distinction, honor, integrity, and excellence; and
WHEREAS, Chief Kehmna's guidance and leadership was instrumental in the
development of the next generation of leaders in which they will continue his legacy of
providing excellent Fire services to the communities they serve; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell
recognizes and commends Chief Kenneth Kehmna on his retirement from the Santa Clara
County Fire Department after nearly 31 years of service.
