A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
ACCEPTING IMPROVEMENTS FOR THE ANNUAL STREET MAINTENANCE —
RESIDENTIAL RUBBER CAPE SEAL AND SLURRY SEAL PROJECT 17BB,
DIRECTING THE FILING OF THE NOTICE OF COMPLETION, AND APPROVING A
BUDGET ADJUSTMENT
WHEREAS, On July 30, 2017, a construction contract in the amount of $2,246,468.20
was awarded to Telfer Pavement Technologies, LLC., of McClellan, California; and
WHEREAS, Telfer Pavement Technologies, LLC, completed the installation of various
improvements in accordance with the project plans and specifications for the Annual
Street Maintenance Project 17BB — Residential Rubber Cape Seal and Slurry Seal
Project; and
WHEREAS, approximately $236,366 of pavement maintenance funds remains unspent
in the project budget; and
WHEREAS, the design for the Harriet Traffic Calming Project is being finalized; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that to slurry seal the surface prior to installing the
new markings and stripings, compared to just blacking out the existing stripings with
paint, would result in a much better project, and
WHEREAS, the additional cost of$75,000 is needed for including the slurry treatment in
the Harriet Traffic Calming Project; and
WHEREAS, a budget adjustment has been prepared to transfer 1) $75,000 of the
$236,366 unexpended project balance to Harriet Avenue Traffic Calming Project 18NN
and 2) $161,000 to the Annual Street Maintenance Winchester Boulevard Project 18XX.
' NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell
hereby accepts the improvements constructed by Telfer Pavement Technologies, LLC,
for the Annual Street Maintenance — Residential Rubber Cape Seal and Slurry Seal
Project 17BB project, directs the City Engineer to file the Notice of Completion, and
authorizes the Finance Director to perform the budget adjustments.
