BEING A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CAMPBELL AUTHORIZING SUBMITTAL OF A FORMAL
APPLICATION FOR PROCESSING AND REVIEW OF A GENERAL _
PLAN AMENDMENT - -- ---------------
WHEREAS, The purpose of the City's General Plan is to guide decisions regarding
physical growth and development, provision of public services and facilities, and
conservation and enhancement of natural resources.; and
WHEREAS, The General Plan establishes a foundation upon which the City Council and
Commissions can base policy . decisions and a basis for judging whether specific
development proposals and public projects are in harmony with community desires.; and
WHEREAS, The General Plan is intended to be --a living document -a' nd, as such, will be
subject to site specific and comprehensive amendments over time.; and
WHEREAS, An amendment to the General Plan may be initiated. only by. the City
Council.; and 7
WHEREAS, The pre -authorization process does not replace, but is ancillary to, the land
use application process and does not result in a decision with regard to land use
entitlements, and nothing contained in the process precludes either the Planning
Commission or the City Council from approving or denying a subsequent formal land use
application.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ,RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell
does hereby authorize submittal.of a formal application for processing and review of a
General Plan amendment to change the land use designation from low -density
residential (<6 du / ga) to low -medium -density residential (6-13 du / ga) for the property
located at 12167 Mozart Avenue.
