BEING AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 2.24 (PLANNING COMMISSION) OF THE
CAMPBELL MUNICIPAL CODE ("CMC") AMENDING AND ESTABLISHING ATTENDANCE
AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS FOR THE PLANNING COMMISSION.
After notification and public hearing, as specified by law and after presentation by the
Community Development Director, proponents and opponents, the hearing was closed.
After due consideration of all evidence presented, the City Council of the City of Campbell
does ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. Chapter 2.24 (Planning Commission): Section 2.24.060 (Absence from meetings
without cause.) of the Campbell Municipal Code is amended to read as follows with underlining
indicating new text and strikeouts (strut) indicating deleted text:

If a member of the Planning Commission is absent from three successive or six regular
meetings of the CommissionTwit-heut-Eause within a calendar near of their appointment or any
calendar year thereafter, the office of such member shafl may be deemed to be vacant and the

The following training and education is mandatoryfor each new• •
first • calander years of appointment assuming the budget•••training:
(a) Attend two consecutive League of California Cities Planning Commissioners
Academy conferences. To comply with this required training, attendance is required
for the entire conference.
Said training needs to be approved by the Community Development Director in advance of
the training and costs associated with the training will be reimbursed by the City of Campbell.
Following completion of the training, each Commissioner shall submit to the Community
Development Director proof of attendance.
SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall become effective thirty (30) days following its passage and
adoption and shall be published, one time within fifteen (15) days upon passage and adoption
in the Campbell Express, a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Campbell, County of
Santa Clara.
