A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
ACCEPTING THE RESIGNATIONS OF MARKO BURIC AND DAVE PORTER FROM THE
BICYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN ADVISORY COMMITTEE (BPAC), AND APPOINTING
LAURA SMITH AND BARTON SMITH TO FILL VACANCIES
ON THE COMMITTEE
WHEREAS, in 1994, the City of Campbell established a Bicycle Advisory Committee (BAC)
with five members appointed by the City Council to provide valuable guidance to the City
regarding bicycle policies and programs; and
WHEREAS, in 2007, the City Council adopted resolution No. 10809 establishing four-year
terms for BPAC members with up to three members whose four-year terms end on even-
numbered years; and
WHEREAS, in 2010, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 11229 renaming the
Campbell Bicycle Advisory Committee (BAC) the Campbell Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory
Committee (BPAC); and
WHEREAS, Marko Buric and Dave Porter have resigned from the Committee, creating two
vacancies; and
WHEREAS, in August 2018 the City solicited applications for serving on the Committee and
seven applications were received; and
WHEREAS, staff re-interviewed those applicants that were still interested in serving on the
BPAC; and
WHEREAS, as a result of those interviews, staff recommends appointing Laura Smith and
Barton Smith to the BPAC.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell
approves the appointment of Laura Smith and Barton Smith to serve on the BPAC for terms
expiring in August 2020 and August, 2022 respectively.
