CC Resolution 12435RESOLUTION NO. 12435 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL COMMENDING MISTY BOOTH FOR 27 YEARS OF SERVICE WHEREAS, Misty Booth was hired for a permanent position by the City of Campbell on March 16, 1992 as a Recreation Program Coordinator in the Recreation & Community Services Department; and WHEREAS, Misty Booth's position ,was reclassified to Recreation Supervisor on July 24, 2000; and WHEREAS, prior to being hired in a permanent position, Misty Booth began her career with the City of Campbell in 1983 through the high school work experience program and continued her hourly employment as a Day Camp Leader (Camp Name "Foggy") and Youth Activities Coordinator; and WHEREAS, Misty Booth was instrumental in the creation of many teen programs including Teen Job Faires in the 1980's with the Chamber of Commerce, teaching the teen interview skills workshops, co - teaching babysitting classes in conjunction with Campbell Fire Department, chaperoning junior high dances and high school bus trips to Disneyland, skiing, and camping; and WHEREAS, Misty Booth excelled at the creation of special interest classes for the Campbell Community including dance, magic, fly -casting, golf, art, juggling, karate, drivers education, cheerleading, gymnastics, babysitting; and WHEREAS, Misty Booth brought joy to Campbell residents through her work on special events including the Summer Concert Series, Tree Lighting Ceremony, Eggstravaganza, Breakfast with Santa, Tennis Challenge and Spring Dance Recital; and WHEREAS, Misty Booth provided excellent leadership to the ,Campbell Pre-school and Summer Camp programs where thousands of young people learned to love school, sing camp songs and play outdoors; and WHEREAS, Misty Booth is a respected recreation professional who served as Secretary on the California Parks and Recreation Society District 4 Board and was honored by that organization with a program award for "Innovative Programming for Teens"; and WHEREAS, Misty Booth defines what it means to be a team player as she helps and supports everyone in the Department all while exuding kindness, empathy and a fantastic sense of humor; and WHEREAS, Misty Booth exemplified an incredible work ethic and a keen eye for safety; and WHEREAS, Misty Booth will enjoy her retirement spending more time at the beach and the golf course; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell does hereby express its appreciation to Misty Booth for twenty-seven years of loyal and dedicated service and offers it best wishes for a fulfilling retirement.
