BEING A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCILOF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
AUTHORIZING THE CIVIC IMPROVEMENT COMMISSION TO PROCEED WITH A
BEAUTIFICATION GRANT PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the City Council approved a Pilot Beautification Grant Program on March 7,
2017; and
WHEREAS, five beautification grants have been awarded to local businesses and
neighborhoods since 2018; and
WHEREAS, as authorized in the Campbell Municipal Code, beautification is one of the
areas of responsibility for the Civic Improvement Commission; and
WHEREAS, the principle goal of the beautification program is to encourage and
incentivize the beautification efforts in the community —both in the neighborhoods and
surrounding businesses; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has approved $10,000 from the City Council Reserve in
the adopted FY 2020 budget to support the Beautification Grant Program; and
WHEREAS, the City Council will determine whether or not to continue to fund the
Beautification Grant Program in subsequent budget cycles;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell
hereby authorizes the Civic Improvement Commission to proceed with the Beautification
Grant Program.
