RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CAMPBELL
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A FIVE YEAR SOLE SOURCE
AGREEMENT WITH RUBRIK, AND OTHER NECESSARY DOCUMENTS THAT MAY BE
REQUIRED TO PURCHASE ONGOING ANNUAL SUBSCRIPTIONS OF RUBRIK BACKUP
SOFTWARE FOR A TOTAL AMOUNT OF $204,406.30
WHEREAS, staff has determined that the city would greatly benefit from the new and improved
backup tools by greatly decreasing the likelihood of directed ransomware attacks;.and
WHEREAS, staff highly recommends expediting the acquisition of the Rubrik backup and data
retention technology given the current level of directed attacks on state and local
municipalities; and
WHEREAS, Rubrik provides -a unique product, and if approved by'the City Council, staff
recommends a sole source purchase pursuant to Campbell Munipal Code (CMC) § 3.20.030
(7) and dispensation of formal bidding procedures contained within CMC § 3.20.050; and
WHEREAS, staff will consolidate existing funding first year costs in the Fiscal Year (FY) 2019-
20 Information Technologies (IT) budget; and
NOW, THEREFORE; BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell
determines that it is in the best interests of the public to authorize the City Manager execute a
five year sole source agreement with Rubrix for annual subscriptions of its backup and data
retention software.
