A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
ACCEPTING THE DONATION OF PAR COURSE EQUIPMENT FOR CAMPBELL
PARK AND APPROVING THE INSTALLATION OF SPONSOR RECOGNITION
SIGNAGE
WHEREAS, the pre-existing parcourse equipment at Campbell Park and along the Los
Gatos Creek Trail has become difficult to maintain and some stations have fallen into
disrepair; and
WHEREAS, the Campbell Parks and Recreation Foundation (CPRF) approached the
City with a plan to replace the parcourse with a new design and. with new equipment;
and
,WHEREAS, the CPRF conducted surveys and observation and consulted, with physical
therapists and fitness trainers to create the design for the new parcourse; and
WHEREAS, the CPRF . solicited donations from local businesses, organizations and
individuals to fund the purchase and installation of the exercise equipment; and
WHEREAS; the CPRF also proposes funding and installing instructional signage at
each exercise station that includes language recognizing the individuals and/or,
-organizations that funded the purchase and installation of the exercise equipment,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council accept the donation of
new parcourse and associated signage, valued at approximately $16,000.
BE IT, FURTHER RESOLVED ' that the City Council approve the installation of
instructional signage for each exercise station that includes language recognizing the
sponsor of that specific station.
