BEING A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
AUTHORIZING DISTRIBUTION OF A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS (RFP) FOR A
PART-TIME CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER AND AUTHORIZE THE CITY
MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH
SAID CONSULTANT
WHEREAS, the City provides code enforcement services to the public; and
WHEREAS, the City has one full-time officer to serve a population of approximately 42,000; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has agreed that'a part-time officer will help the Code Enforcement
Program resolve a backlog of aging cases: and
WHEREAS, the City hired CSG Consultants to provide a part-time officer since 2018 and the
contract will expire in November 2019; and
WHEREAS, City Council policy requires the City to distribute an RFP if the agreed upon
contract for services exceeds $50,000; and
WHEREAS, the existing consultant has informed staff that the contract will be increased which,
therefore, requires the City to recirculate an RFP for such services; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed and accepted the draft RFP and found it to include
the appropriate assignments necessary to carry out the services of a part-time code
enforcement officer; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has authorized the City Manager to enter into a one-year contract
with the selected consultant with the option to extend the contract by one-year without having to
return to the City Council; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell hereby
authorizes distribution of a Request for Proposals and authorize the City Manager to enter into a
professional services agreement with said consultant.
