RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL CITY COUNCIL
AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AN OPERATOR'S AGREEMENT WITH
URBAN VILLAGE FARMERS MARKET ASSOCIATION
TO CONTINUE OPERATING AND MANAGING
THE DOWNTOWN CAMPBELL FARMERS MARKET
WHEREAS, the City of Campbell (The "City") entered into a contract with Urban Village
Farmers Market Association (The "UVFMA") to manage and operate a farmers' market in
Downtown Campbell (The "Market") in 1998; and
WHEREAS, over the last 21 years, the Market has been highly successful in increasing the
visibility of Downtown Campbell by providing a community gathering place that brings together
local farmers and vendors that provide organic produce, as well as packaged and cooked food
to the community, and giving Campbell's downtown merchants a weekly flow of people to
market their merchandise; and
WHEREAS, the Campbell Farmers' Market has been named the best farmers' market in
Silicon Valley by the readers of The Mercury News for the last 15 consecutive years; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to retain the UVFMA's services for operation of a certified
farmers' market meeting the requirements of the of the Santa Clara County Agricultural
Commissioner and Environmental Health Department; and
WHEREAS, the City and Operator have agreed to the amended covenants, conditions and
provisions including compensation, public safety and waste disposal; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Campbell City Council authorize
the City Manager to execute the Sixth Amendment to the Operator's Agreement with the
UVFMA to continue to manage and operate the Downtown Campbell Farmers' Market through
June 30, 2024.
