A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
ADOPTING THE SANTA CLARA COUNTYWIDE BICYCLE PLAN
WHEREAS, the 2016 Measure B '/2-cent sales tax is anticipated to raise $250 million for
the Measure B Bicycle and Pedestrian Program; and
WHEREAS, this program would fund projects aimed at eliminating bicycle and pedestrian
facility gaps, improving connections and mobility, and making these facilities safer and
more convenient; and
WHEREAS, the 2016 Measure B Bicycle/Pedestrian Capital Projects Competitive Grant
Program scoring system awards more points to projects that are developed through a
public engagement process or that are identified in a bicycle plan; and
WHEREAS, adopting the Santa Clara Countywide Bicycle Plan as the City's bicycle plan
will allow future grant applications to score better for 2016 Measure B Bicycle and
Pedestrian Program funds; and
WHEREAS, the City of Campbell has several candidate projects eligible for Measure B
Bicycle/Pedestrian Capital Projects Competitive Grant Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council adopts the Santa Clara
Countywide Bicycle Plan (adopted by VTA Board of Directors on June 7, 2018) for the
purpose of competing better for 2016 Measure B Bicycle and Pedestrian Program funds.
