BEING A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL CONGRATULATING
ANA SPEAR, 2019 CITIZEN OF THE YEAR
WHEREAS, Ana Spear was selected by the Campbell Chamber of Commerce as 2019 Citizen
of the Year in recognition of her commitment and significant contributions to the Campbell
community, and will be honored on March 14, 2020, at the annual "Celebrate Campbell'
banquet; and
WHEREAS, Ana Spear, retired in 2019, after a 28-year career with the Campbell Police
Department in the Bureau of Field Operations; and
WHEREAS, Ana Spear will continue to serve the Campbell Police Department as a member of
the Reserves; and
WHEREAS, Ana Spear has generously given her time to many community organizations and
events; and
WHEREAS, Ana Spear, is viewed by many as an "unsung hero" who chooses to do much of
her work behind the scenes and out of the limelight; and
WHEREAS, Ana Spear, remains actively involved in the organization and leadership of the
Campbell Community Toy Program, the Bunnies & Bonnets Parade, Creepy Crawley, Night to
Shine, and Carol of Lights events; and
WHEREAS, her support of the Campbell Chamber, the Downtown Campbell Business
Association and the Rotary Community Corps is exemplary and her desire to help those in need
serves as a model for others to follow; and
WHEREAS, her attitude and community spirit exemplifies the qualities of the Campbell Citizen
of the Year.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell
congratulates Ana Spear on being named Campbell's 2019 Citizen of the Year and recognizes
her service and involvement in the Campbell community.
