CC Resolution 12568 RESOLUTION NO. 12568 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL AUTHORIZING THE POLICE DEPARTMENT TO PURCHASE A MOBILE EMERGENCY OPERATIONS CENTER (MEOC) WITH FUNDS RECEIVED FROM THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA AND APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE 2020-2024 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PLAN (CIP) BUDGET WHEREAS, in April 2019, the City received $550.000 for Emergency Operations infrastructure from the State of California; and WHEREAS, the current Emergency Operations Center (EOC) will not be available for use until a new Police building is ready to occupy due to library renovation which will occur as part of Measure 0; and WHEREAS, the current MEOC is past its life expectancy. in need of major repairs and upgrades, and a new vehicle to tow the MEOC is also in need of replacement; and WHEREAS, the Police Department would like to use the $550.000 received from the State of California to purchase a new fully self-contained MEOC so the City will not be without a functional EOC during the construction of the new police headquarters. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell hereby authorizes the Police Department to purchase a new fully self-contained Mobile Emergency Operations Center (MEOC) using the $550.000 received from the State of California and approves the necessary amendments to the 2020-2024 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) Budget as detailed in the accompanying Council report and incorporated by reference.
