A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CAMPBELL RECOGNIZING THE HEROIC ACTIONS AND LIFESAVING EFFORTS
OF AGENT MARGARET LEITZ AND RESERVE OFFICER PAULA SOULODRE
ON JULY 28, 2019 AT THE GILROY GARLIC FESTIVAL
WHEREAS, On July 28th Agent Leitz and Reserve Officer Soulodre were working a
mutual aid assignment at the Gilroy Garlic Festival; and
WHEREAS, Agent Leitz and Officer Soulodre ran into a very dangerous and chaotic
situation without hesitation, knowing they were running toward an active shooter, putting
both of their lives in extreme peril; and
WHEREAS, Agent Leitz and Officer Soulodre performed lifesaving efforts for
multiple gunshot victims under extremely dangerous conditions; and
WHEREAS,Agent Leitz and Officer Soulodre further assisted with security and with
searching the grounds for a possible second shooter; and
WHEREAS, Agent Leitz and Officer Soulodre's actions showed undaunting
courage, devotion to duty, upholding the highest traditions of the Campbell Police
Department.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Campbell recognizes and commends Agent Margaret Leitz and Reserve Officer Paula
Soulodre for their heroic actions and lifesaving efforts on July 28th, 2019 at the Gilroy
Garlic Festival.
