A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
CONGRATULATING MARK THORNTON AS 2021 CITIZEN OF THE YEAR
WHEREAS, Mark Thornton was selected by the Campbell Chamber of Commerce as the
2021 Citizen of the Year in recognition of his commitment and significant contributions to
the Campbell community, and was honored on March 19, 2022, at the annual "Celebrate
Campbell" banquet; and
WHEREAS, Mark Thornton was previously selected as the 2019 Downtown Campbell
Business Associations Person of the Year; and
WHEREAS, Mark Thornton volunteers willingly and enthusiastically contributes his time,
energy, and talents to the Campbell community; and
WHEREAS, Mark Thornton lends a helping hand at events for the Campbell Chamber of
Commerce, the Campbell Chamber Community Foundation, and the Downtown Campbell
Business Association; and
WHEREAS, Mark Thornton serves as a dedicated leader and volunteer at The Home
Chuch; and
WHEREAS, Mark Thornton is always ready and willing to lend a helping hand with food
distribution efforts to help those most in need; and
WHEREAS, Mark Thornton volunteers his time to support and guide local teens; and
WHEREAS, Mark Thornton's attitude and community spirit exemplifies the qualities of the
Campbell Citizen of the Year.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell
congratulates Mark Thornton on being named Campbell's 2021 Citizen of the Year and
recognizes his service to and involvement in the Campbell community.
