CC Resolution 12819 - RFP for Janitorial Services for the CCC and Theatre RestroomsRESOLUTION NO. 12819 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS TO INITIATE A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS FOR JANITORIAL SERVICES FOR THE COMMUNITY CENTER, HERITAGE THEATRE AND PARK RESTROOMS AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A SERVICE CONTRACT WITH THE MOST RESPONSIVE BIDDER WHEREAS, the current contract for janitorial services for the Community Center, Heritage Theatre and park restrooms will expire on June 30, 2022; and WHEREAS, both the City and the City's current contractor, Significant Cleaning Services, mutually agree it is not in the best interest of either party to exercise a contract extension for janitorial services beyond the expiration date; and WHEREAS, janitorial services for all City facilities are provided by contractual service providers; and WHEREAS, awarding the janitorial service contract to the lowest bidder has not always produced a service provider that can meet the janitorial service needs of the Community Center, Heritage Theatre and park restrooms; and WHEREAS, janitorial services for all City facilities are evaluated and awarded using a Request for Proposal process that evaluates the quality of service, as well as pricing, and awards the contract to the contractor proving the best value to the City. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell does hereby authorize the Director of Public Works to initiate a Request for Proposals for janitorial services for the Community Center, Heritage Theatre and park restrooms; and authorize the City Manager to execute a service contract with the most responsive bidder for a period of one (1) year with options to renew annually for up to a total of six (6) years.
