RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL AUTHORIZING
THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH DASHER TECHNOLOGIES,
TO PURCHASE AND INSTALL THE PUBLIC WIFI TECHNOLOGY AT THE
CAMPBELL COMMUNITY CENTER IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $80,729; AND
AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ANY FUTURE AMENDMENTS TO
THE CONTRACT AND DISPENSE WITH THE STANDARD BIDDING REQUIREMENTS
AS SPECIFIED IN CAMPBELL MUNICIPAL CODE SECTION 3.20.030(6)
WHEREAS, the products and services provided by Dasher Technologies are
compatible with the existing systems installed in 2018 and deployed at City Hall, the
Corporation Service Yard; and the Community Center administrative buildings; and
WHEREAS, extending the coverage of Wifi services is consistent with the desire
for the city to leverage technology as a tool to bridge communication between the City
and the public and enhance operational efficiency; and
WHEREAS, a contract with Dasher Technologies will extend Wifi coverage to the
most heavily used areas of the Community Center, including the Heritage Theatre,
Orchard City Banquet Hall, Mary Campbell Room, Roosevelt Redwood Room, the Fitness
Center, Auxiliary Gym, Pool, and Building Wings D, E, and M; and
WHEREAS, a contract with Dasher Technologies for products and services is the
most cost-effective option because of their prior experience with exiting city networks and
includes all equipment, installation, and wiring costs for a total contract amount of
$80,729.86; and
WHEREAS, per Municipal Code Section 3.20.030(6), if the city elects to purchase
supplies, materials, or equipment directly from a vendor determined to be the lowest
responsible bidder as a result of a competitive bid process conducted by the state of
California, the County of Santa Clara or any other California county or municipality, such
purchases are permitted if the vendor agrees to provide the same low bid price to the city
as provided to the original awarding agency.
WHEREAS, Dasher Technologies has provided a quote to the City using the pre -
negotiated pricing schedules provided to the National Association of State Procurement
Officials (NASPO), guaranteeing the lowest pricing available for these network
products.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Campbell that
the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a contract with Dasher Technologies,
in an amount not to exceed $80,729 to purchase and install the public Wifi technology
at the Campbell Community Center; and authorize the City Manager to execute any
future amendments to the contract and dispense with the standard bidding requirements
as specified in Campbell Municipal Code Section 3.20.030(6).
