A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH DELL
FINANCIAL SERVICES FOR THE LEASE PURCHASE OF MOBILE DATA
COMPUTERS AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT
WHEREAS, the Mobile Data Computer Replacement project is consistent with the
City's goal of adopting technologies that enhance public safety, improve officer efficiency
and prevent crimes; and .
WHEREAS, the Campbell Police Department utilizes Mobile Data Computers to
run the computer automated dispatch system providing critical emergency call
information, GPS locations to officers, and the ability for an officer in distress to signal
dispatch; and
WHEREAS, the Campbell Police Department utilizes the Mobile Data Computers
for the purposes of accessing critical information, investigative databases and report
writing; and
WHEREAS, the current Mobile Data Computers were purchased in 2017 and are
at the end of their useful life; and
WHEREAS, entering into a five-year contract with Dell Financial Services, for the
lease purchase of Getac V110 Mobile Data Computers and related equipment reflects a
stable five-year payment schedule that is consistent with the approved budget for this
Capital Improvement Program (CIP) project (CIP Project No. 23-MM); and
WHEREAS, the City will own all of the equipment at the end of the contract term..
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Campbell that
the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a five-year lease contract with Dell
Financial Services for the purchase of Getac V110 Mobile Data Computers and
associated equipment.
