CC Resolution 12905 - City Manager to approve agreement between Santa Clara County and Campbell PDRESOLUTION NO. 12905
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CAMPBELL TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO APPROVE AN AGREEMENT
BETWEEN SANTA CLARA COUNTY AND CAMPBELL POLICE DEPARTMENT FOR
THE SERVICE OF PROVIDING CLETS ACCESS.
WHEREAS, the Department of Justice uses CLETS to send law enforcement
bulletins and other notifications to local law enforcement agencies and provides
agencies with access to federal and state criminal justice databases; and
WHEREAS, the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office currently provides the Campbell
Police Department with access to CLETS with no agreement in place; and
WHEREAS, Santa Clara County, on behalf of the Office of the Sheriff, drafted an
agreement to define each parties roles and responsibilities as they relate to
connectivity and the access to CLETS information; and
WHEREAS, the cost allocation is clearly defined as being based on Campbell Police
and other departments use of the system.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Campbell authorize the City Manager to enter into the agreement with Santa Clara
County for them to provide CLETS access to the Campbell Police Department.
