A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
ACCEPTING MONETARY DONATIONS FROM THE CAMPBELL PARKS AND
RECREATION FOUNDATION AND ROTARY CLUB OF CAMPBELL FOR HYDE
PARK PLAYGROUND RENOVATIONS AND APPROVING ASSOCAITED BUDGET
ADJUSTMENTS TO RECOGNIZE DONATION REVENUE AND DONATION
RELATED EXPENDITURES
WHEREAS, Hyde Park's only playground feature has been a children's swing set that
was recently replaced in October 2022; and
WHEREAS, the City has recognized the need for additional playground equipment upon
replacement of the original swing set; and
WHEREAS, improvements to the surrounding landscape would enhance the park's
overall appearance and accommodate newly added playground features; and
WHEREAS, the City has selected five new playground equipment pieces to be installed,
along with landscaping upgrades, that would reduce the City's long-term maintenance
costs and increase value to the public; and
WHEREAS, the total cost of the improvements is estimated at $23,000; and
WHEREAS, the Campbell Parks and Recreation Foundation and Rotary Club of
Campbell have presented the City with donations in the amounts of $7,800 and $7,000
respectively on behalf of their support for the improvement efforts of Hyde Park; and
WHEREAS, the attached budget adjustment form recognizes donation revenue_ and
donation related expenditures; and
WHEREAS, the City has sufficient operating budget to fund the balance of the project in
the amount of approximately $9,000 and does not require a further budget adjustment at
this time;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council accept the combined total
donation amount of $14,800 to be used for the Hyde Park Playground Renovations
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED staff will make the necessary budget adjustments for the
renovation -related costs upon City Council's acceptance of donations from the Campbell
Parks and Recreation Foundation and Rotary Club of Campbell and that the attached
budget adjustment form is approved and incorporated by reference.
