A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
AMENDING COMPENSATION AND/OR BENEFITS FOR UNCLASSIFIED
MANAGEMENT EMPLOYEES POLICE CHIEF CLASSIFICATION AS DEFINED IN
RESOLUTION 10016 AND AS DESIGNATED IN RESOLUTION 8553
WHEREAS, Title 2, Section 2.16.020 of the Campbell Municipal Code provides that the City
Council may, from time to time, by resolution, change the compensation and/or benefit
amendments of employees of said City, and may, by resolution, adopt salary and wage
scales; and
WHEREAS, Title 2, Section 2.12.030(7) of the Campbell Municipal Code requires the City
Manager to prepare and submit an annual salary plan to the City Council for its approval; and
WHEREAS, the City Council and the City of Campbell desires to adopt such salary increases
and approve benefit and working condition amendments.
WHEREAS, in keeping with Campbell Personnel Rules and Regulations section 4.3.C.1, the
City Council desires to amend the Police Chief classification salary band to mitigate the
compaction between the salary of the Police Chief classification and the Police Captain
classification; and
WHEREAS, the compaction between the salary of the Police Captain classification and the
Police Chief classification has existed since January 25, 2021; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager desires to address the compaction issue and compensate the
Police Chief for any retro-active compensation due in the amount of $3,489.60 on or before
December 8, 2022, for the period of January 25, 2021, to November 27, 2022,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell hereby
authorizes, effective December 6, 2022, a 0.71 % increase to the salary ranges of Unclassified
Management Police Chief classification as defined in Resolution 10016 and as designed in
Resolution 8553,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all other supplemental benefits and working conditions
shall remain as established.
