RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
HONORING STEVE GOODMAN
AS THE 1989 CAMPBELL CITIZEN OF THE YEAR
WHEREAS, Steve Goodman was born and spent his youthful years in Stockton,
California, earning his Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering in 1949; and
WHEREAS, Steve, his wife Jean Ann and family have resided in Campbell since
1958; and
WHEREAS, Steve served for thirty-three years as Engineer and Manager of
County Sanitation District No. 4, and has participated with the legislative
committee for the California Association of Sanitation Agencies, the California
Water Pollution Control Association, the American Society of Civil Engineers,
the American Public Works Association, and the American Academy of Environmental
Engineers; and
WHEREAS, Steve has been actively involved with the Santa Clara Council of
the Boy Scouts of America, serving as Finance Chairman of the Pioneer District
of the Santa Clara Council of Boy Scouts, Scoutmaster, and Vice President for
Council Operations; and
WHEREAS, Steve has been a member of the Campbell Chamber of Commerce for
eighteen years, and has served on the Board of Directors and as Vice President
for Legislative Affairs for the past three years;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell
recognizes and honors STEVE GOODMAN on his being named 1989 Campbell Citizen of
the Year.
