BEING A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
COMMENDING ROBERT L. DIAZ FOR HIS YEARS OF
SERVICE WITH THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
WHEREAS, Robert L. Diaz has been employed by the City of Campbell
since May 13, 1958; and
WHEREAS, Robert L. Diaz is retiring from the Campbell Public Works
Department effective December 31, 1989, concluding more than 31 years of
service to the community, including 15 years as Public Works
Superintendent; and
WHEREAS, Robert L. Diaz has assisted the City Council, the Parks and
Recreation Commission and citizen volunteer groups in developing and
implementing park improvements, arterial street tree planting programs and
street and landscaping maintenance policies; and
WHEREAS, Robert L. Diaz has served as Chairperson to the City's Motor
Pool Task Force to develop and manage the vehicle preventative maintenance
program; and
WHEREAS, Robert L. Diaz is a State Board Representative and served as
President of the Maintenance Superintendents Association, San Francisco
Bay Area Chapter. He was awarded the "Outstanding Maintenance
Superintendent Award" in 1985 by the Maintenance Superintendents
Association; and
WHEREAS, Robert L. Diaz is an active member of the Public Fleet
Supervisors Association and the American Public Works Association; and
WHEREAS, Robert L. Diaz has performed his responsibilities with a
high degree of professionalism skill and dedication;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council on behalf of
City employees and Campbell citizens, wishes to express its appreciation
to Robert L. Diaz for his years of valuable service and wish him continued
good health and happiness in his retirement.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 16th day of January 1990, by the
following roll call vote:
