A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF THE DONATION OF A POLICE K-9 FROM
THE SEAN M WALSH MEMORIAL FOUNDATION
WHEREAS, The Sean M. Walsh K-9 Memorial Foundation (Sean's K-9) is a
501(c)(3) non-profit organization that has served communities nationwide since 2012 with
their mission to provide grants to law enforcement agencies to establish and maintain
their K-9 programs; and
WHEREAS, The Sean M. Walsh Memorial Foundation is named in memory of
SPC Sean M. Walsh after his death while serving in Afghanistan; and
WHEREAS, Sean's K-9 has provided K-9s, through their grants, to numerous
agencies regionally; and
WHEREAS, This would be the second K-9 donated to the Campbell Police
Department by the Sean M. Walsh Memorial K-9 foundation; and
WHEREAS, This K-9 is a replacement for Campbell Police K-9 Lucas, who is set
to retire in 2024.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Campbell that the City accept donation of a Police K-9 valued at $12,500 from the Sean
M. Walsh Memorial Foundation.
