BEING A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO APPLY FOR, NEGOTIATE, AND
EXECUTE A GRANT AGREEMENT WITH DESTINATION: HOME TO FUND AN
UNHOUSED SPECIALIST POSITION
WHEREAS, Destination: Home is a public -private partnership now incorporated as a California
501(c)(3) non-profit public benefit corporation that invests in organizations and programs with
key strategic initiatives to end homelessness in Santa Clara County; and
WHEREAS, Destination: Home manages a Capacity Building Grant program intended to
channel private, philanthropic investments towards solutions for reducing and preventing
homelessness; and
WHEREAS, the City Council seeks to apply for Capacity Building Grant funding from
Destination: Home to support the creation of an Unhoused Specialist Position for a period of
three years; and
WHEREAS, the Unhoused Specialist Position would support policies and programs which are
part of the 2023-2031 Housing Element (Campbell's Plan for Housing); and
WHEREAS, the City Council reviewed the application for a Destination Home Capacity Building
Grant included as Appendix D of the Housing Program Audit (Evaluation of the City of
Campbell's Housing Program and Recommended Housing Program Improvement Plan)
prepared by Rebecca Garcia and dated April 23, 2023.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell hereby
authorizes the City Manager to apply for, negotiate, and execute a grant agreement funded by
Destination: Home for an Unhoused Specialist Position.
