CC Resolution 12994 - Adopt New Administrative Policy City Park Special EventsRESOLUTION NO. 12994 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL TO ADOPT A NEW ADMINISTRATIVE POLICY CITY PARK SPECIAL EVENT POLICY WHEREAS, the City of Campbell defines a special event as a 100 or more people gathering in the public right-of-way or City owned property; and WHEREAS, requests for special events have increased in recent years for locations outside of Downtown Campbell; and WHEREAS, the existing Downtown Special Event Policy does not provide rules and regulations to permit a special event anywhere except Downtown Campbell; and WHEREAS, the proposed new administrative policy, City Park Special Event Policy, will provide clear rules and regulations to properly permit such requests; and WHEREAS, the proposed changes to allow special events in designated parks was reviewed and approved by the Parks and Recreation Commission on February 1, 2023; and WHEREAS, the new policy will improve customer service and make it easier for the community to submit an application for a special event in park areas located in Campbell; and WHEREAS, the rules listed in the City Park Special Event Policy correspond to the changes in Chapter 5.50 of the Campbell Municipal Code regarding Special Events Permit, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council hereby adopts the new administrative policy, City Park Special Event Policy, for the purpose of permitting special events within Campbell, effective May 16, 2023.
