CC Resolution 13027 - Purchase of new duty pistols from Adamson Police ProductsRESOLUTION NO. 13027 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF- CAMPBELL AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF DUTY PISTOLS AND ACCESSORIES FROM ADAMSON POLICE PRODUCTS AND DISPENSING WITH FORMAL BIDDING REQUIREMENTS WHEREAS, the current duty pistols (Heckler and Koch HK45s) were purchased by the City of Campbell for Campbell Police Department duty -use approximately ten years ago; and WHEREAS, the pistols and associated equipment are reaching the end of their service life for duty use; and WHEREAS, the Smith and Wesson M&P 2.0, with a red dot optic, has been identified as the recommended replacement pistol; and WHEREAS, Staff contacted seven large reputable police supply distributors and requested quotes for the Smith and Wesson M&P 2.0 and associated accessories; and WHEREAS, only two vendors, Proforce Law Enforcement and Adamson Police Products, provided quotes that included firearms and associated accessories; and WHEREAS, Adamson Police Products provided the lowest quote for new pistols and accessories in the amount of $147,685; and WHEREAS, Adamson Police Products is a reputable business that the City has previously purchased products from; and WHEREAS, Adamson Police Products is located in the Bay Area, making repair and replacement easier for the City, if needed; and WHEREAS, the City Council previously approved $150,000for Service Pistol Replacement in the City's Capital Improvement Plan for Fiscal Year 2024; and WHEREAS, Staff recommends that the City Council authorize the purchase of new duty pistols (Smith and Wesson M&P 2.0) and necessary accessories from Adamson Police Products; and, that the City Council find that it is in the best interest of the public to dispense with formal bidding requirements pursuant to Campbell Municipal Code 3.20.030(8); NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell approves the purchase of new duty pistols (Smith and Wesson M&P 2.0) from Adamson Police Products, to include necessary accessories, in an amount not to exceed $150,000; and hereby determines that it is in the best interest of the public to dispense with formal bidding requirements pursuant to Campbell Municipal Code 3.20.030(8). BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council hereby approves the Police Chief to execute purchase agreements for procurement of this equipment.
