A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL AUTHORIZING THE
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR TO SUBMIT A GRANT APPLICATION FOR
CLIMATE CHANGE ADAPTATION AND MITIGATION FUNDING FOR JURISDICTIONS TO
THE SANTA CLARA COUNTY PUBLIC HEALTH DEPARTMENT CLIMATE AND HEALTH
PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the Santa Clara County Public Health Department (SCCPHD) Climate and Health
Department has issued a notice of funding for cities within Santa Clara County; and
WHEREAS, the SCCPHD Climate and Health program is seeking to fund projects from
jurisdictions pursuing climate change policies or efforts that address extreme heat and/or poor air
quality and aim to reduce climate -related health disparities and inequities; and
WHEREAS, SCCPHD has up to $150,000 available to fund cities and will grant a maximum
funding award per city of up to $50,000; and
WHEREAS, the Community Development Department is seeking approval to submit a grant
application to the SCCPHD Climate and Health program to assist with funding portions of
Campbell's Climate Action and Adaptation Plan; and
WHEREAS, should the City Council approve the grant application, any awarded funds received
would address the current and future Climate Change and Adaptation needs of the City of
Campbell; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Campbell that the
Community Development Director is hereby authorized to submit a grant application for Climate
Change and Mitigation Funding to the Santa Clara County Public Health Department's Climate
and Health Program to assist with funding portions of Campbell's Climate Action and Adaptation
Plan; and
